Picking out a Bowling Ball
Bowling balls are put into many different categories. I like consider there 3 different categories. First deciding what level you are will help narrow your choices.
Below you can find out info of each category and suggestions of balls in each.
High Performance Level
For the Bowler looking for Ball Reaction on the lane and thru the Pins.
Performance level Bowling Balls have specially designed weight blocks and cover-stocks to work on specific lane conditions. They are balls that could have a lot of reaction on the lane and will have explosive pin action.
Mid Performance Level
For the Bowler looking to start hooking the ball and get better pin action then with entry level ball.
Mid Performance level Bowling Balls have weight blocks and cover-stocks that will give you little reaction on the lanes. Someone should select a Mid Level Ball as the first step to getting a ball to hook. Others may choose a ball from this level because they are looking for a ball that will not over react on the lanes.
Entry Level / Spare Ball
A highly polished ball.
Good for straight shots.
An Entry Level Ball is good for that person who has not had there own ball before. Having your own ball custom fit to your hand makes a big difference in your enjoyment of the game. These balls do not have a weight block and will go pretty straight with little pin action. Advanced bowlers will use this as a second ball to pick up spares.
